AWPN Foundation Skills at Work Conference 2015

The AWPN is pleased to announce that the next AWPN conference will be held in Melbourne on the 18th, 19th  and 20th March 2015 in Melbourne.

With a theme of ‘Foundation Skills at Work’, the conference will explore broad themes of interest to all professionals with an interest in foundation skills strengthening in the workplace context.  Special attention will be given to exploring government policy, programs and initiatives, including the National Foundation Skills Strategy for Adults,  the Industry Skills Fund, the National Foundation Skills Strategy Project, the Foundation Skills Assessment Tool and the Foundation Skills Professional Development Workshops.

The conference is expected to attract over 100 Australian and international delegates, including new and experienced LLN and vocational practitioners, resource developers, RTO managers, employers and supervisors, employer representatives, unions, peak bodies, Industry Skills Councils, researchers and government. The program will be informative and interactive, exploring the latest research, sharing practices and investigating government policies, programs and initiatives. The program will also mark the closing of the WELL Program, celebrating its past achievements and showcasing recent and current funded projects.

The pre-conference workshop on the 18th March will focus on government policy changes and the development of whole of industry programs.

NOTE: The conference previously planned for September 2014 in Hobart has been cancelled. The will be no AWPN conference in 2014.
